About the role
A national specialty pharmacy specializing in rare disease therapies is seeking an experienced Interim Compliance Officer for a full-time, remote contract engagement. This is an opportunity to lead an established healthcare compliance and privacy program while partnering closely with executive leadership and the Board Compliance Committee to support one of the country’s leading specialty pharmacy organizations. For the right candidate, this engagement may lead to a permanent position.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership of the company’s enterprise compliance program, overseeing key functions including compliance policies and procedures, training and education, auditing and monitoring, investigations, corrective action plans, privacy compliance, regulatory change management, licensing oversight, and Board reporting.
- Manage an experienced compliance team and collaborate closely with Legal, HR, Quality, IT, and business leaders to navigate the complex regulatory landscape governing specialty pharmacy operations, including multi-state licensing, healthcare privacy, accreditation, and federal healthcare program requirements.
Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive healthcare compliance experience, including experience leading or managing an enterprise compliance program
- Significant experience within specialty pharmacy, pharmacy services, PBMs, or another highly regulated healthcare environment strongly preferred
- Deep knowledge of the OIG seven-element compliance program framework, including risk assessments, auditing and monitoring, investigations, corrective action plans (CAPAs), policy management, and compliance training
- Strong working knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security requirements, federal healthcare program regulations, including the Anti-Kickback Statute and False Claims Act, and healthcare regulatory enforcement
- Experience supporting or overseeing multi-state healthcare regulatory compliance, licensing, accreditation, and/or regulatory audits
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional compliance initiatives and partnering with Legal, HR, Quality, IT, and executive leadership
- Experience preparing reports and presenting compliance matters to executive leadership and/or boards of directors
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills
Qualifications
- J.D. preferred but not required
- CHC and/or CHPC certification is a plus

Pay
The salary range for this role is $218,000 to $250,000. Pay of base and bonus is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, and location.
