About the role

The Electrical Integration Specialist supports all aspects of integrating electrical infrastructure into Tate's Raised Access Floors and Data Center products. They also support purchasing functions to ensure adequate flow of critical materials.

Responsibilities

  • Gain full understanding of all material applications and uses and constructability of finished products.
  • Review electrical equipment specifications, submittals, drawing sets, one-line drawings to ensure project compliance with what is being provided.
  • Track industry standards and associated lead times and identify alternative supply chains on an as needed basis.
  • Discover, evaluate, and on-board new vendors for 3rd party material/equipment to round out electrical additions to our modular product offering.
  • Work with purchasing team to ensure any electrical equipment that needs to be Tate furnished is done in a timely manner to align with project delivery timelines.
  • Work on-site with installers, electrical contractors, to troubleshoot as needed.
  • Manage third-party electrical installers and/or commissioning agents during product integration and testing.
  • Maintain inventory on projects and initiate corrective actions with team when necessary.
  • Suggest alternate uses to avoid material obsolescence.
  • Gain critical understanding of material costs, commodity swings, and cost drivers to obtain most advantageous and competitive prices.
  • Develop and manage vendor relations and transactions, communicate issues and non-conformances, measure performance, and ensure compliance.
  • Actively participate in project forecasting for purposes of resource and material planning.
  • Aid in resolving critical situations and revisions with professional deportment and provide support to multiple Tate teams in the execution of customer requirements.
  • Maintain positive and effective working relationships with all inter-company departments and personnel, as well as suppliers.
  • Maintain awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; report all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel.

Requirements

A minimum of 10 years relevant experience in Electrical Engineering and/or Project Management of electrical installation, building commissioning services, and electrical installation troubleshooting.

Experience in electrical supply chain and procurement functions for electrical infrastructure and electrical service/installation projects, and/or sufficient experience to have demonstrated capacity, means, aptitude, and initiative to solve problems, develop process improvements and achieve desired outcomes.

Knowledge and practice with purchasing processes, vendor sourcing, supplier negotiation, as well as determining and understanding cost drivers and market conditions.

Previous experience with material management, inventory control, and MRP systems.

Ability to read and understand specifications and read technical electrical drawings.

Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.) applications and computer technology.

50-75% travel to other Tate facilities, suppliers, and project sites may be required.

Qualifications

This role is eligible for a discretionary bonus.
