Overview
The Larimer County Department of Human Services seeks a dynamic Intake Specialist to join the Children, Youth and Family (CYF) Division. This position involves conducting phone interviews, managing email inboxes, and providing crisis intervention. Shifts vary, typically lasting 8.5 hours with options for starting times between 7am and 11am, ending between 3:30pm and 7:30pm. The role requires at least one day per week in the office and includes remote work with a stipend.
Responsibilities
- Conducting phone interviews and documenting referrals for child and adult protection
- Monitoring and managing a shared email inbox for timely follow-up on incoming tasks and referrals
- Providing crisis intervention and connecting clients and community members with appropriate resources
- Responding to in-person requests, including walk-ins, runaways, and juveniles in law enforcement custody
- Acting as a resource to clients and community members
- Managing background checks, records requests (CPS/LE), and other requests to support the agency
Qualifications
- Two (2) years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities
- A high school diploma or GED
- An associate's degree, or equivalent education, from an accredited college or university preferred
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, certification as a Notary Public
