Intake Operator I
About the role
The Intake Operator I is responsible for monitoring processes, materials, and surroundings to ensure safety and quality of incoming liquid dairy product in accordance with applicable compliance and security protocols.
Responsibilities
- Maintain tankers sealed and paperwork matches during receiving.
- Sample milk tankers for food safety; run required temperature, antibiotics, and sensory tests prior to offloading product.
- Complete all documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
- Effectively perform all daily operations associated with shipping and receiving liquid dairy products.
- Conduct Clean In Place (CIP) duties as needed.
- Quickly recognize when factors are outside acceptable parameters.
- Safely and efficiently load and offload liquid dairy products.
- Understand and comply with all Food Safety/Quality Assurance policies, immediately reporting any potential food safety issues to management.
- Adhere to the Master Sanitation Schedule for assigned area including testing and logging all information necessary.
- Responsible for washing milk silos correctly with splash guard in door.
- Responsible for hooking up milk silos for filling and making sure all lines are capped when not in use.
- Responsible for ensuring all trucks are agitated, if required.
- Maintain area free of garbage (truck seals).
- Proper storage of caps, clamps and gaskets, and disposal of truck seals in tubs not on the floor.
- Proper cleaning of hoses and storage of hoses with caps on them.
- Loading and unloading of all trucks to properly use dust covers.
- Understand and operate SAP system and Milk Intake Dashboard.
- Understand and troubleshoot product flows.
- Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, Food Safety Plan and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point programs.
- Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
- Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
- Support safety policies and programs.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Antibiotic Testing License: to be obtained within 30 days of hire; in-house training provided.
- Milk Sampling License: to be obtained within 30 days of hire; in-house training provided.
- Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Ability to follow written, verbal and diagrammatic instructions; complete simple checklists and complete required documentation.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with managers and colleagues.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Basic computer operational skills; able to input and retrieve computerized information.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, adapt to a changing environment quickly, and think independently.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
- Decisions administered soundly and consistently with policies and in compliance with appropriate laws and regulations.
- Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and work to maintain constructive working relationships.

Pay
Starting wage of $23.17/hr. Two pay increases within the first year up to $1.00/$1.50.
Schedule
Shift Differential + Double Time on Sundays and Holidays. 5:00PM to 5:00AM 2-2-3 Rotational Schedule.
