Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot instrumentation equipment issues, identify problems and manage solutions.
  • Perform preventive, corrective and condition based maintenance to maximize instrumentation equipment uptime across facilities utilities system.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols during all operations.
  • Use root cause analysis tools to identify permanent solutions for recurrence failures causing equipment downtime.
  • Provide technical support during commissioning and start up for new instrumentation equipment, installation, configuration and calibration.
  • Understand interactions with other departments in activities such as maintenance scheduling.
  • Identify areas of business process improvement opportunities and provide input with solutions.
  • Interpret issues/questions regarding schematics, diagrams, written/verbal instructions, layouts or defined plans.
  • Interact actively with stakeholders and departments on work planning and coordination.
  • Mentor/train lower level technicians.
  • Document all work order and calibration systems.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs using technical expertise and in conformance with standards.
  • Decide which type of maintenance is needed, select parts for replacement.
  • May participate on cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct and/or oversee routine inspections and investigations.
  • Interpret complex data from equipment, processes etc.
  • Apply knowledge of relevant best practices, state and local code in area of expertise.
  • Regular attendance and timeliness is required per departmental guidelines.
  • Adhere and enforce safety rules, follow safe procedures and guidelines.
  • Support plant operation during off-hours as needed.

Qualifications

  • Advanced electro mechanical knowledge.
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Understands manufacturing systems.
  • Effectively communicates via verbal/written means to immediate team and other SAS departments.
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant SAS systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant software tools (i.e., Programmable Logic Controller, Microsoft etc.).
  • Ability to work flexible hours as necessary.
  • Intermediate knowledge in relevant code regulations.
  • Intermediate knowledge of mentoring, coaching and leading groups/people.
  • May require the ability to maintain a state license as necessary (i.e., journeyman).

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or technical school certification preferred.
  • Typically requires 8-15 years of experience.
  • May require trade knowledge in a specialized field.
  • Training in industrial instrumentation, electrical systems, computerized controls, hydraulics and related areas.
  • Experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and installation of analog instrumentation systems and SCADA systems.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or technical school certification preferred.
  • Semiconductor or high-volume manufacturing experience preferred.
  • May require trade knowledge in a specialized field.
