Job Summary

Classroom Instructor

Job Duties

  • Teach metallurgy and materials science courses at the college level
  • Develop and implement lesson plans based on course objectives and syllabi
  • Assess student progress through quizzes, exams, and assignments
  • Mentor students and provide feedback on their academic performance
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop new curriculum and improve existing courses

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science or related area
  • Two (2) years college level teaching experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in higher education
  • Knowledge of industry standards and practices

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Sometimes lift up to 10 lbs.
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.

Reasoning Ability

  • Apply mathematical concepts to solve problems
  • Use logical and scientific thinking to address complex issues
  • Interpret and analyze documents and data
  • Respond effectively to inquiries and complaints

Work Environment

  • May work in a laboratory setting
  • Must follow safety rules and operate laboratory equipment
  • May work near moving mechanical parts
  • May work in a noisy environment
