Job Summary
Classroom Instructor
Job Duties
- Teach chemistry courses at the college level
- Develop and implement lesson plans
- Assess student progress and provide feedback
- Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Chemistry or a Master’s degree and 18 credit hours in Chemistry
- Two (2) years college level teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience within the past 5 years
Physical Requirements
- Regularly stand, use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear
- Sometimes lift up to 10 lbs., rarely lift up to 25 lbs.
- Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- May need to work in a laboratory environment
Reasoning Ability
- Apply mathematical concepts and principles
- Use logical and scientific thinking to solve problems
- Interpret and analyze complex documents
- Respond effectively to inquiries and complaints
Work Environment
- Stand, use hands, and walk frequently
- Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- May work near moving mechanical parts
- May work in a laboratory environment
- Must follow safety rules and regulations
- Must operate appropriate laboratory equipment
- Tolerate the presence of laboratory chemicals
- Work in a moderate noise environment
