Job Summary

Classroom Instructor

Job Duties

  • Teach chemistry courses at the college level
  • Develop and implement lesson plans
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry or a Master’s degree and 18 credit hours in Chemistry
  • Two (2) years college level teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching experience within the past 5 years

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly stand, use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear
  • Sometimes lift up to 10 lbs., rarely lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • May need to work in a laboratory environment

Reasoning Ability

  • Apply mathematical concepts and principles
  • Use logical and scientific thinking to solve problems
  • Interpret and analyze complex documents
  • Respond effectively to inquiries and complaints

Work Environment

  • Stand, use hands, and walk frequently
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • May work near moving mechanical parts
  • May work in a laboratory environment
  • Must follow safety rules and regulations
  • Must operate appropriate laboratory equipment
  • Tolerate the presence of laboratory chemicals
  • Work in a moderate noise environment
