Job Summary
Classroom Instructor
Job Duties
- Teach physics courses at the college level
- Develop and deliver lesson plans aligned with course objectives
- Assess student understanding through various methods including quizzes, tests, and projects
- Mentor students and provide guidance on academic and career paths
- Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities
Required Qualifications
- Master of Science degree in Physics or a Master’s degree and a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Physics
- Two (2) years college level teaching experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching introductory physics courses
- Experience with educational technology tools
Physical Requirements
- Regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects
- Sometimes stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.
Reasoning Ability
- Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
- Deal with nonverbal symbolism such as formulas, scientific equations, and graphs
- Deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables
Work Environment
- May work near moving mechanical parts
- May work in a laboratory setting
- Must follow safety rules and operate appropriate laboratory equipment
- May work in a noisy environment
Salary & Work Hours
Salary per faculty contract, work hours vary based on departmental needs.
