Job Summary

Classroom Instructor

Job Duties

  • Teach physics courses at the college level
  • Develop and deliver lesson plans aligned with course objectives
  • Assess student understanding through various methods including quizzes, tests, and projects
  • Mentor students and provide guidance on academic and career paths
  • Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities

Required Qualifications

  • Master of Science degree in Physics or a Master’s degree and a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Physics
  • Two (2) years college level teaching experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching introductory physics courses
  • Experience with educational technology tools

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects
  • Sometimes stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.

Reasoning Ability

  • Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
  • Deal with nonverbal symbolism such as formulas, scientific equations, and graphs
  • Deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables

Work Environment

  • May work near moving mechanical parts
  • May work in a laboratory setting
  • Must follow safety rules and operate appropriate laboratory equipment
  • May work in a noisy environment

Salary & Work Hours

Salary per faculty contract, work hours vary based on departmental needs.
