Responsibilities

  • Conducting translational neuroscience research focused on mechanisms of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and neuromodulation using mouse models and human neuroimaging approaches
  • Designing and performing experiments involving in vivo optical imaging, electrophysiology, behavioral phenotyping, and computational analysis
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of clinical translational research protocols related to ECT and other neuromodulation interventions
  • Analyzing and interpreting experimental data
  • Preparing manuscripts and presentations for scientific meetings and peer-reviewed publication
  • Assisting with mentorship and training of students and research staff
  • Participating in collaborative interdisciplinary research activities within the Department of Psychiatry and affiliated neuroscience programs

Requirements

  • Expertise in the specific area of neurophysiology, systems neuroscience, translational neuroimaging, or related fields
  • An M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent degree

Qualifications

  • Prior experience with translational neuroscience research, in vivo imaging, electrophysiology, computational analysis, or neuromodulation approaches is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary research environment
