About the role
Olympic College is seeking instructors to teach Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher Preparation courses. These courses cover topics such as Personal Student Development and Leadership Techniques, History and Philosophy of Career Technical Education, Diversity in the Classroom, and more.
Responsibilities
- Teach between 1-3 courses per quarter in areas like Personal Student Development and Leadership Techniques, History and Philosophy of Career Technical Education, Diversity in the Classroom, and other courses as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of students and complete forms as required.
- May require evening instruction and possible weekends.
- Communicate punctually with students, faculty, and staff.
- Provide quality teaching including related preparation and grading.
- Provide class syllabi to students enrolled in classes and to the division office as requested.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all OC employees and students.
Qualifications
- Baccalaureate Degree
- Current Career and Technical Education Teacher Certification
- Intermediate level computer competency
- Preferred: Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a closely related field
- Preferred: Current or former Director of Career and Technical Education in the K-12 system
- Preferred: Online teaching experience or experience in web-enhanced instruction
- Preferred: Teaching experience at the community college or undergraduate level

- Effectively teach and impart excitement and enthusiasm in teaching courses
- Demonstrate a commitment to teach students with little or no background, as well as the experienced student desiring to further their career
- Utilize a variety of methods and modes of instruction to ensure student success
- Function as a positive and effective team player
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing in the classroom and with other professionals
- Adequately incorporate the use of computer information technology in the delivery of services
