About the role

Effectively utilize and support current and district-provided technology in a co-teaching environment. Coordinate with appropriate school personnel on the use of various technology resources. Design technology-based instructional strategies using data. Assess teacher technology understanding, skills, and integration. Research and explore newer technologies in instruction. Facilitate or conduct technology-focused professional development for school and district staff. Provide training for licensed and classified staff in appropriate technology resources. Maintain and update the Career Institute Technology website and Twitter account. Craft a quarterly newsletter to share updates, tips, and newsworthy highlights.

Responsibilities

  • Provide training for licensed and classified staff in appropriate technology resources.
  • Maintain and update the Career Institute Technology website and Twitter account.
  • Craft a quarterly newsletter to share updates, tips, and newsworthy highlights.
  • Select technology that best fits Texas Academic standards being taught.
  • Provide classroom management tips to use when utilizing technology within lessons.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university; Master’s preferred.
  • Valid Texas teacher’s certificate at the appropriate level.
  • Five years of directly related experience preferred.
  • Experience using technology to improve teaching and learning in a setting working with various types of computer software, hardware, and multi-media applications.
  • Knowledge of current computer creative and production software applications.
  • Ability to work with clients, teachers, and students to translate content into multimedia products in formats including, but not limited to, video, audio, graphics, digital animations, and HTML.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications, Google Suite Applications, Adobe Professional Suite, and other web-based and social media applications.
  • Experience managing digital environments, including hardware and software configurations, on a variety of platforms and devices.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience performing the duties of the job may substitute for the educational requirement.
  • Strong knowledge and skills for designing engaging lessons using learning standards and research-based instructional practices and strategies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the educational process gained through directly related experience.
  • Proficient in principles, methods, techniques, strategies, and trends in effective professional learning and instructional coaching, as well as leadership and facilitation of adult learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a project team.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and active listening skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of this position.

  • Maintain and update the Career Institute Technology website of resources for teachers, students, and parents.
  • Utilize Twitter account to promote positive instructional technology practices and as a way to quickly provide resources.
  • Craft a quarterly instructional technology newsletter to convey updates, tips, and other newsworthy highlights.
  • Select technology that best fits Texas Academic standards being taught.
  • Provide classroom management tips to use when utilizing technology within lessons.
