About the role

Manage the Deaf/Hard of Hearing instruction and services for the Regional Day School Program for the Deaf. Monitor inclusion of Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in the general education setting and centralized campuses. Provide professional development for any stakeholder districtwide. Appraise regional day school program for the deaf staff as appropriate and maintain and file all reports, records and required documents. Participate in critical case ARDs and attend ARDs in contracting districts of the Shared Service Agreement and Charter schools. Manage Deaf/Hard of Hearing supplemental curriculum and materials for centralized campuses and birth-3 services. Manage budget for the RDSPD, Shared Service Agreement and billing. Assist schools in the MTSS/SST and referral process for students that are Deaf/Hard of Hearing. Provide staff development for campuses in Dallas ISD and other districts participating in the Shared Service Agreement. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Education of the Deaf and Hearing Impaired
  • 10 years’ experience in serving students with hearing impairment
  • Deaf Education certification
  • Demonstrated appropriate sign language skills with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students and staff
  • Demonstrated knowledge of referral, evaluation, and the Admission, Review and Dismissal Committee process and Individual Education Plan goal setting process and implementation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of hearing assistive technology

  • Median Salary: $91,458.00
