Responsibilities

  • Implement a research-based coaching and feedback model of support to teachers and staff.
  • Develop and model effective behavior interventions in collaboration with campus team.
  • Collaborate with campus staff to collect various types of data using district-approved tracking platforms.
  • Respond to campus requests for behavior assistance promptly.
  • Schedule and conduct consultations/observations to ensure implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Provide written, formative feedback for continued improvement.
  • Create and follow up with campus action plans addressing identified needs.
  • Maintain accurate case records and required accountability documentation.
  • Deliver professional learning opportunities in behavior management to campus personnel.
  • Support the implementation of BHS program expectations by conducting periodic fidelity checks.
  • Attend ARD meetings to assist the committee in understanding program expectations and support recommendations.
  • Participate in activities required by the Texas Behavior Support Initiative (SB 1196).
  • Engage in professional development in special education, coaching, leadership, and behavior-related topics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in a directly related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Valid Texas teacher's certification with required Special Education endorsement.
  • Minimum five years of successful teaching experience in a public or private school setting, preferably in an urban school district.
  • Documented competence in designing interventions to change inappropriate student behaviors.
  • Effective communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Calm demeanor and ability to avoid conflict while remaining professional during a crisis or conflictual situation.
  • Experience in developing, analyzing, and implementing Federal, State, and Local Special Education regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Proficient computer literacy skills and knowledge of computer operations such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Outlook email.
