About the Role

Instructional Assistant II working with students served in Resource, Learning Handicap, or Communicatively Handicap programs. This role involves running small groups, assisting students in large groups in both Special Day Class settings or General Education, and supporting the teacher's needs.

Required Materials

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One of the following:
  • Passing score from San Juan Unified School District's Proficiency Exam (testing date must be April 2005 to current) — no other district's exam accepted
  • Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)

Passing the IA Proficiency Test or having the CBEST is required, regardless of educational background.

Pay & Schedule

• Salary: (IA II) $18.58 – $24.47 (CSEA General Unit Salary Schedule)
• Length of Work Year: Elementary Instructional Assistant – Calendar 18A (9 months/year, 206 days/year, 5 days/week)
• Length of Work Day: 6.5 hours
