About the role
Instructional Assistant II – mild/moderate: supports students served in Resource, Learning Handicap, or Communicatively Handicap programs. Typical duties include running small groups, assisting students in large groups in both Special Day Class and General Education settings, and supporting the teacher’s needs.

In some programs, possession of—or willingness and ability to obtain—a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire is required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (must be attached to application)
- One of the following (must be attached to application):
- Passing score on San Juan Unified School District’s Proficiency Exam (April 2005 or later; no other district’s exam accepted)
- Official passing score on the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)
- Relevant experience listed on the application (required for IA II level)
