Install Technician Apprentice

Responsibilities

• Repair and install garage door parts and equipment on-site
• Diagnose and repair garage doors, door operators, replace worn or broken door parts, install new equipment including doors, and replace springs
• Educate the customer about their options to repair the issue and prevent future ones
• Collect payment from the customer after the work is done
• Sell services to the customer using a good/better/best model
• Manage inventory in your vehicle

Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude and technical skills (plus)
• Able to lift 50 pounds independently
• Able to bend, climb, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time
• Able to work in the heat and cold, both outside and inside garages that may not be temperature-controlled
• Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with customers and solve issues
• Communicate and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable and able to serve our customers following our process
• Knowledge and experience in the garage door industry (preferred but not required)
• Able to use a computer and/or tablet
• Able to use hand tools and operate mechanical equipment

Qualifications

• Self-starter with a passion for troubleshooting and fixing things
• Willingness to learn and grow professionally

Pay

$30.00-$50.00/hour depending on experience
