Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain technical skills, knowledge of supported product lines, and proficiency in company policies and procedures.
- Timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks, either independently or with guidance from a senior technician.
- Develop and maintain positive customer relationships, embodying Rite-Hite's commitment to customer service.
- Comply with all company policies and safety guidelines.
- Assist in the installation, inspection, service, and repair of equipment in the field under the direction of a senior technician.
- Work comfortably at heights in various weather conditions.
- May assist with performance-planned maintenance and other non-critical tasks.
- Complete required training classes and modules to demonstrate proficiency and understanding.
- Accurately complete necessary paperwork related to field service, repair, and installation, including service tickets, time sheets, open job tracking forms, and safety analysis sheets.
- Maintain compliance with operation and communication standards as outlined in the Field Technician Handbook.
- Operate truck-based cranes, forklifts, welders, torches, and power and hand tools.
- Follow all company and customer safety requirements.
- Adhere to customer-specific requirements, policies, and directions on their work sites.
- Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure efficient and high-quality customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Prior mechanical, electrical, or welding experience is helpful but not required.
Knowledge / Skill Requirements
- Service technicians must have a valid drivers' license and pass a DOT medical exam.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, blueprints, schematics, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to understand and apply common sense in standardized situations.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
