INSTALL LEAD

About the Role

This position ensures proper and safe installation of HVAC equipment for residential and commercial customers. Roles include Lead Installer and Installation Helper, both focused on delivering excellent customer service and high-quality installations.

Responsibilities

• Lead Installer:
  • Install new or replacement HVAC equipment, including residential furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and commercial rooftop units.
  • Interpret construction drawings, schematics, and cut sheets in the field.
  • Perform tasks related to ductwork, condensate drains, venting, refrigerant piping, gas piping, insulation, line and low voltage wiring, controls, and programming.
  • Conduct brazing, threading pipe, soldering, and welding as required.
  • Prepare, test, and start up new HVAC equipment.
  • Maintain professional appearance and manners when interfacing with customers.
  • Explain installed systems to clients and ensure 100% satisfaction with the work.
  • Train and supervise installation assistants/helpers to maximize efficiency.
  • Prioritize safety on the job and while driving, ensuring assistants also work safely and neatly.
  • Report to and follow directions from the HVAC Project Manager, adhering to company policies and procedures.
• Installation Helper:
  • Assist the Lead Installer in installing new or replacement HVAC equipment.
  • Learn and perform tasks related to residential and commercial HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, wiring, and controls.
  • Conduct brazing, threading pipe, soldering, and welding as required.
  • Maintain professional appearance and manners when interfacing with customers.
  • Report to and take direction from the Lead Installer, following company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
• Lead Installer:
  • Minimum of 2 years of HVAC experience.
  • Strong work ethic and in-depth HVAC knowledge.
  • Proficiency in customer service.
  • Familiarity with furnaces and related equipment.
• Installation Helper:
  • No prior experience required.
  • Basic customer service skills.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Physical Demands:
  • Climbing up and down ladders and equipment.
  • Heavy lifting (50-75 pounds) and working in tight spaces.
  • Ability to consistently lift a minimum of 25 pounds and carry up to 250 feet unassisted.
  • Operate handheld power tools.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours per week and up to 12 hours per day.
• Work Environment:
  • Work both indoors and outdoors, exposed to very hot or very cold temperatures.
  • Proximity to hazardous conditions, equipment, and situations (e.g., sharp tools, electricity).
  • Frequent use of safety attire, such as goggles or protective clothing.
  • Exposure to loud or uncomfortable noise levels, bright or inadequate lighting.
  • Work from ladders, roofs, scaffolding, and in cramped spaces (e.g., crawl spaces).
  • Exposure to contaminants.
