About the role

Mid-Florida Heating & Air has served the local community’s heating and air conditioning needs since 1983, providing HVAC products and services to Central Florida residents. We are seeking a dependable and motivated HVAC Lead Installer to join our growing team. This role focuses on performing preventative maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs on residential and light commercial HVAC systems to ensure efficient operation and customer comfort. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, takes pride in their work, and enjoys building lasting relationships with customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems, including installation and repair. This role requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to work with various tools and equipment. The HVAC Installer will be responsible for ensuring that heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems are installed correctly and function efficiently. The installation technician ensures proper and safe installation of all equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install new/replacement equipment and provide excellent customer service to residential and commercial heating and air conditioning customers.
• Interpret construction drawings, schematics, and cut sheets in the field.
• Work on a variety of projects and tasks related to the HVAC trade.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of HVAC design principles and schematics.
• Install heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems according to specifications and schematics.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot issues with HVAC equipment and provide effective solutions.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and safely.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance services performed.
• Train installation assistants/helpers, teaching them to work independently for maximum installation efficiency.
• Always explain the system to the client when finished with an installation and ensure 100% satisfaction.
• Always be safety conscious on the job and while driving, ensuring assistant installer works safely and neatly.
• Perform brazing, threading pipe, soldering, and welding as required.
• Be competent in the preparation, testing and start‑up of new HVAC equipment.
• Handle line and low voltage wiring, controls, and programming.

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of installing HVAC systems (residential furnace, air conditioner, heat pump, commercial rooftop ductwork, condensate drains, venting, refrigerant piping, gas piping & insulation).
• Experience with line and low voltage wiring, controls, and programming.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Valid Driver’s License
