Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Receive and respond to incoming sales requests via telephone, email, and other channels.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with existing and prospective customers by providing prompt, professional service, answering inquiries, and addressing their needs.
  • Qualify leads, provide product recommendations, answer customer inquiries, issue accurate quotes, and process orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Work with vendors to determine product availability, application, pricing, and delivery timelines to support customer requirements at competitive prices.
  • Communicate with outside sales staff (Account Managers) and work with internal teams to source new customers, business opportunities, and products.
  • Maintain knowledge of IPS products, vendor offerings, and competing solutions to better assist customers and identify growth opportunities.
  • Aid with after-hours coverage on a rotating schedule, customer account setup, and procurement-related vendor identification.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: 0-2 years in inside sales, customer service, or related fields.
  • Technical skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, MS Dynamics) is a plus.
  • Customer-Centric: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain relationships.
  • Organized and Detail-Oriented: Ability to manage multiple tasks, follow through on orders, and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability and Initiative: Proactive, eager to learn, and able to work collaboratively with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Product Knowledge: Willingness to learn and retain detailed knowledge of company products, vendor offerings, and competitive solutions.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, carry items up to 50 lbs.

Pay Rate Details

$65,000 - $72,000 per year
