Inside Sales Representative
Responsibilities
- Enter, update, and manage customer orders and requests for quotation (RFQs) within the ERP system with a high level of accuracy.
- Ensure all quotes, orders, and related documentation are processed and forwarded to the appropriate next step, such as Engineering, within expected timelines.
- Track and follow up on open quotes, orders, and outstanding items to ensure timely completion and resolution.
- Prepare and maintain complete order packets, including printing, organizing, and distributing all required supporting documentation.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of customer interactions, orders, and documentation in the designated systems.
- Monitor dashboards, reports, and open order logs to proactively identify gaps, delays, or missing information and take corrective action.
- Perform data entry with strong attention to detail and data accuracy, ensuring information is complete and up to date.
- Document and attach all required information, including customer communications, to the appropriate transactions within the system.
- Cook up and manage job folders and supporting materials needed to maintain an efficient production flow.
- Work closely with support staff to distribute workload effectively and maintain throughput across the order and production process.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries, providing updates on orders and resolving issues promptly.
- Communicate clearly and proactively with customers regarding order status, potential delays, and any changes that may impact delivery or requirements.
- Follow up on outstanding quotes and customer requests in a timely manner to support customer satisfaction and internal planning.
Requirements
- Experience in inside sales, inside sales support, or similar customer-facing transactional roles.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to manage inquiries, provide updates, and resolve issues professionally.
- Background in order management and data entry, with demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail.
- Account management experience, particularly in environments where managing multiple open items and follow-ups is required.
- Comfort working in an ERP-heavy role, including entering, updating, and tracking orders and RFQs within an ERP system.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate, structured records and documentation.
- Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced job shop or contract manufacturing environment.
- Proactive approach to managing workload, prioritizing tasks, and consistently meeting deadlines.
- Willingness to own transactional work rather than delegating or delaying tasks.
- Strong communication skills, providing clear and transparent updates on workload, timelines, and order status.
- Process-driven mindset with the ability to follow structured workflows consistently.
- Collaborative attitude and openness to asking for help when needed to ensure tasks are completed correctly and on time.
- Basic blueprint reading skills to match purchase order requirements with production needs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience in order entry roles with significant ERP system usage.
- Familiarity with job shop or contract manufacturing operations and related workflows.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
