About the role

The Inside Sales Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing an assigned portfolio of Automotive customers through proactive account management, customer engagement, and consultative selling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned territory and portfolio of Automotive customers.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication and regular account reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales, expand product penetration, and grow market share within existing accounts.
  • Develop and execute account growth plans aligned with customer objectives and company goals.
  • Monitor customer buying trends, purchasing patterns, forecasts, and business initiatives to identify new revenue opportunities.
  • Conduct telephone, virtual, and customer meetings to understand customer needs and provide value-added solutions.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction through responsiveness, problem-solving, and professional account management.
  • Partner with customers to support new programs, product launches, and ongoing production requirements.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned accounts, providing professional sales representation and exceptional customer service.
  • Build relationships with purchasing, engineering, operations, manufacturing, and other key stakeholders within customer organizations.
  • Gain customer support and acceptance by engaging in technical and commercial discussions to understand requirements and expectations.
  • Influence and align both internal and external stakeholders to support customer success and business growth.
  • Address customer inquiries, challenges, and opportunities promptly and professionally.

Sales Operations & Collaboration

  • Record all customer interactions, account activities, and opportunities in CRM.
  • Maintain accurate account information, forecasts, and sales pipelines.
  • Meet or exceed established customer contact and account management objectives.
  • Collaborate with Technical Service, Marketing, Product Management, Customer Service, and Field Sales teams to support customer needs.
  • Cook up customer meetings, business reviews, product evaluations, and technical discussions as required.
  • Provide market intelligence, competitive insights, and customer feedback to internal stakeholders.
  • Support pricing initiatives, contract renewals, and customer retention strategies.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in inside sales, account management, or customer relationship management.
  • Experience within the Automotive industry preferred.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and consultative selling skills.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and drive organic growth within existing accounts.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience using CRM systems and maintaining accurate customer records.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on customer satisfaction and revenue growth.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical/mechanical or marketing field (or equivalent experience).
  • 0-2 years professional sales experience, directly managing and supporting accounts and multiple technical product lines/families.
  • Preferably in the industrial chemical industry.

Pay & Benefits

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location. The salary for this role is $50,000 - $60,000 + Incentive Plan. In addition to your salary, H.B.
