Inpatient Unit RN (Hospice House)

What the role will entail

• Perform initial and ongoing patient/family, physical, emotional, psycho-social, cultural and spiritual assessments.
• Ensure and coordinate the delivery of comprehensive, holistic services by the Interdisciplinary Hospice Team.
• Provide palliative nursing care and symptom control in accordance with physician orders and IDG plan of care.
• Document and enter into EMR all assessments and interventions before the end of the shift.
• Develop and prioritize the interdisciplinary care plan goals of the patient/family, hospice team and attending physician, prior to team meetings.
• Provide anticipatory guidance to the patient/family to assist in preparing for coping with events as they occur.

Who we are looking for

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Valid New York State nursing license.
• Minimum of at least 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Minimum of at least 1 year ICU, Med-Surg, ER or similar required; one year of hospice experience preferred.
• Venipuncture and IV placement certification preferred.
• Ability to exercise critical thinking skills.
• Skill to prioritize and handle multiple tasks effectively.
• Bilingual is a plus!

Work Environment/Physical Demands

• Work in fast paced environment.
• Ability to lift at least 30 pounds of supplies and/or equipment.
• Moderate/High level of possible exposure to infectious agents.
• Routine duties involve potential for direct exposure to blood or body fluids.

Hours

• Per Diem 7:00PM-7:30AM (12.5 hour shifts).
• 6 shifts per month.
• 2 shifts on the weekend.
• 1 holiday per year.

FLSA

• Non-Exempt

Pay

• $44.87-46/hr;
• 5% night differential for night shifts.
