About the role
Responsible for daily work scheduling, training, answering questions related to work, assisting in solving problems, scheduling maintenance of equipment and work area. Works with regulatory on maintaining food regulations. Team Lead is a working member of the blending team.
Responsibilities
- Leads production activities with respect to production volume to meet production schedules and shipping dates
- Reads bills of material
- Assures that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained for efficient production and to required standards
- Maintains records of departmental activities
- Maintains cleanliness of room per schedule
- Maintains documents and submits them promptly to Food Innovations
- Records lot numbers and amounts of ingredients in each load on menu and timecard, reporting to Inventory Control
- Unloads flour and salt when received using forklift
- Informs supervisor of any shortages, equipment failures, staffing deficiencies, bill of material concerns, or regulatory concerns immediately
- Follows and trains new hires to SSOP per regulatory requirements
- Maintains appropriate communications within area of responsibility, keeping Blending Room employees informed as to Company Plans, Department Plans, and progress
- Provides orientation and on-the-job training for all Team Members, ensuring duties, authority, and responsibility for each position are defined and understood
- Fosters Safe Quality Foods (SQF) as a lifestyle vs. an event mentality
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Good leadership and organizational skills
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly in English
- Must be able to operate a computer and be familiar with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Able to work with minimum supervision and direct the work of others
- General education with good basic math skills
- Technical degree or apprenticeship and supervisory experience preferred
- Must be able to become a certified forklift operator
- Must be capable of heavy lifting (approximately 50 lbs.) on a repetitive basis
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs without assistance
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for up to 5 hours at a time
- Must be able to bend, squat, reach, push, pull, climb, and walk
- Standing, walking, sitting, and bending for extended periods of time
Schedule
6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday | 40 hours per week
