Team Lead
About the role
To complete and assign work-specific activities to team members, providing direction, guidance, and training in the completion of these activities. This includes resolving complex work-related issues by establishing strong relationships with both internal and external customers. Ensures team members complete necessary work-related activities and assignments on time while maintaining outstanding customer service and demonstrating sound communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide direction and guidance to team members by answering questions on work-related issues or problems.
- Resolve routine and complex issues relating to the team's day-to-day activities and provide guidance and training on new activities.
- Assign work activities based on team members' skill levels.
- Perform quality audits of completed activities for each team member, including recording and tracking results.
- Review errors and complete or arrange necessary training for each team member based on audit results.
- Compile data and complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports to ensure quality measurement goals are achieved.
- Maintain and control the flow of work to and from other departments.
- Compile information and complete team productivity and quality reports.
- Work with supervisors and/or managers to identify productivity or performance issues with individual team members or the team as a whole.
- Make professional recommendations to management regarding work-related activities to enhance or improve workflow production and results.
- Assist and may assume responsibility in the absence of the supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Thorough knowledge of the specific area responsible for and applicable government regulations.
- At least 3 years of experience in the customs brokerage, export, and/or transportation field.
- One year in a support or assist role in a team or individual environment with proven leadership skills.
- Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external customers.
- Ability to train and motivate team members to ensure high workflow productivity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership experience.
- US Customs clearance/entry processing experience.
- Cargowise experience.
Pay
This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role: $28.01 - $42.01 USD hourly. Actual starting pay will be determined by experience, market level, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Hybrid.
