Infrastructure Planning Mgr, Global Network Deployment

About the role

AWS is expanding its infrastructure management team and seeks a technology manager with experience in people management, robust technical understanding, and the ability to lead and grow the team.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and assign tasks to data center technicians and operators, project management, coaching, and creating documentation.
• Manage inbound capacity from receiving through deployment stages.
• Manage the installation of network and cabling infrastructure in a data center environment.
• Guide, train, and educate staff on best practices related to service owner issues.
• Manage tasks and deliverables across small to large-size projects.
• Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and required SLAs.
• Provide weekly reports to the data center manager.
• Coordinate team resources to support project and delivery needs, including emergency projects, change management, and maintenance window support.
• Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
• Host daily/weekly staff meetings.
• Drive compliance to Amazon performance management requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
• 3+ years of people management experience.
• Knowledge of data center infrastructure design, operations, or delivery.

• Experience in project and program management.
• Experience in risk management.
• Experience in stakeholder management.
• 1+ years of data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations experience.
