Infrastructure Planning Mgr, Global Network Deployment

About the role

AWS is expanding its infrastructure management team and seeks a technology manager with experience in people management, robust technical understanding, and the ability to lead and grow the team. The role involves creating sustainable processes, driving automation, and ensuring timely delivery of network capacity with zero rework.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and assign tasks to data center technicians and operators
• Manage inbound capacity from receiving through deployment stages
• Manage the installation of network and cabling infrastructure in a data center environment
• Guide, train, and educate staff on best practices
• Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and SLAs
• Provide weekly reports to the data center manager
• Coordinate team resources for project and delivery needs, including emergency projects, change management, and maintenance window support
• Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels
• Host daily/weekly staff meetings
• Drive compliance to Amazon performance management requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields
• 3+ years of people management experience
• Knowledge of data center infrastructure design, operations, or delivery

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in project and program management
• Experience in risk management
• Experience in stakeholder management
• 1+ years of data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations experience
