Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Coordinator to support a large portfolio of active infrastructure and construction projects within a higher-education environment. This is a hands-on, field-focused coordination role responsible for keeping approximately 20-25 projects moving, coordinating vendors, monitoring installation readiness, and serving as the eyes and ears for the department in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Cook up multiple infrastructure and construction projects simultaneously.
  • Serve as the primary service coordinator for project vendors and contractors.
  • Conduct regular rounds of active construction and installation sites.
  • Cook up cabling, network, and device installation activities.
  • Determine when projects are ready for installation and identify issues that could delay progress.
  • Work closely with vendors, contractors, project teams, and internal stakeholders to resolve field issues.
  • Provide proactive 3-4 week look-ahead planning for upcoming project activities.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, status updates, schedules, and field notes.
  • Identify potential project roadblocks and take ownership of getting them resolved.
  • Act as the department's field representative, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Help ensure projects remain on schedule and do not come to a halt due to unresolved field issues.
  • Support additional project coordination and administrative activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in infrastructure, construction, project coordination, field coordination, telecommunications, or a related environment. Strong candidates with approximately 2 years of relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Experience with cabling, structured cabling, low-voltage, network, or telecommunications installations.
  • Construction or infrastructure project experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate vendors, contractors, and multiple projects.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and active projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of issues.
  • Highly independent, reliable, and proactive work style.
  • Comfortable spending the majority of the workweek in the field and on an active campus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a higher-education/university environment.
  • Familiarity with BICSI standards.
  • Familiarity with TIA industry standards.
  • Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure, network, cabling, or technology installation projects.
  • Experience managing or coordinating a large number of concurrent projects.
