About the role
You will provide advanced administration and support for servers and systems supporting the Arsenal Mission Package (AMP).
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain a diverse range of operating systems, including Windows, Linux, virtual environments, and associated hardware.
- Support requests based on priority, modifying or updating AMP components as needed, and provide expert technical advisement on design, integration, troubleshooting, and repair for AMP and related technologies.
- Participate and/or lead IT projects focused on system upgrades, migrations, and implementations, along with the automation of routine tasks through scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
- Implement and maintain security hardening measures within the AMP and Linux environments, adhering to DoN Cybersecurity requirements (e.g., DISA STIGs, CNSSI 1253) and Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs).
- Oversee the effective completion and adherence to periodic Information Assurance (IA) tasks such as password changes on network devices.
- Collaborate with AMP system engineers and applicable program offices, Fleet operators, and other IT sections to understand AMP IT requirements and provide timely and effective support.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position.
- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code (System Admin), proficiency level (Intermediate).
- The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Qualifications
- At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in the administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of Linux operating systems (such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux).
- Implementing system security hardening and compliance measures (e.g., DISA STIGs), and resolving complex server-level issues, and developing technical documentation for system operations.
- Experience demonstrating attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving skills relevant to IT.
