Information Technology Specialist

About the role

The successful candidate will support the mission of Marine Operational Test and Evaluation Squadron One (VMX-1) by recognizing information as a critical resource for mission success. They will provide comprehensive networking, maintenance, audio/visual, telecommunication, and technical support.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end support of classified and unclassified information systems and peripherals.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to IT systems and their peripherals.
• Coordinate major repairs to IT systems and peripherals.
• Support telecommunications, video conferencing, and other media to facilitate remote meetings and briefings.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures for communications, IT systems, and Information Assurance.
• Maintain local networks and assist in establishing and maintaining standalone Local Area Networks and IT assets.
• Aid in accounting for all communications equipment.
• Plan and coordinate IT asset administration, maintenance, and security.
• Administer IT security updates, hardware, and software.

Requirements

• 6 years of progressive Information Technology (IT) related duties.
• Familiarity with DoD and DoN cyber security policies and procedures.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as computer science.

Qualifications

• To be considered, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Preferred qualifications include: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CompTIA IT Fundamentals+ (ITF+).

• Experience with network and system administration.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices.
