About the role

The IT Systems Analyst II (Information Systems Specialist 6) within the Disability Determination Service (DDS) of the Oregon Department of Human Services is responsible for acting independently to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues. This role involves managing and maintaining the integrity of both the local and wide area networks, including hardware and software components.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and diagnoses performance issues with hardware and software, and implements solutions as needed.
  • Communicates with the federal partner (Social Security Administration) to resolve performance problems caused by software issues.
  • Diagnoses and repairs hardware as needed or reports to hardware vendors for devices that cannot be repaired locally.
  • Installs, configures, upgrades, and solves problems with devices within the existing LAN/WAN environment.
  • Produces ad hoc reports on system performance for federal partners and other users.
  • Reviews and adjusts devices and software on the LAN/WAN to manage traffic and scheduling issues, ensuring security and access through a firewall.
  • Maintains security and controls space utilization on the network, and installs new software and hardware as needed.
  • Controls inventory of devices, maintains compatibility of software versions, and participates in designing and modeling data.
  • Tracks resource utilization, evaluates changes to wiring standards, and projects future performance based on new technologies.
  • Analyzes new technologies for feasibility within the existing LAN/WAN and conducts performance analysis to determine resource utilization and security.
  • Projects data storage needs based on current usage patterns and evaluates new technologies for acquisition and capacity.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of information systems experience in system integration and development.
  • Completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field, or an Associate degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Three (3) years of information systems experience in system integration and development.
  • A Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, and one (1) year of information systems experience in system integration and development.

Qualifications

  • Minimum four (4) years of IT customer relations experience.
  • Minimum four (4) years of network infrastructure construction and monitoring.
  • Expertise in Microsoft full suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Access.

Skills

  • HSPD-12 credentialed or willing to undergo the HSPD-12 background check process.

Pay

$6,182 - $9,361 per year.

Schedule

General office environment with a typical schedule of Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility for alternate work schedules based on business needs. Overtime is possible.
