About the role

The IT Systems Analyst II (Information Systems Specialist 6) within the Disability Determination Service (DDS) of the Oregon Department of Human Services is responsible for managing and maintaining the network infrastructure, ensuring the integrity and functionality of both the LAN and WAN.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and diagnoses hardware and software performance issues, implements solutions, and communicates with federal partners (SSA).
  • Installs, configures, upgrades, and repairs devices within the LAN/WAN environment.
  • Produces reports on system performance for federal partners and other users.
  • Manages operations by adjusting devices and software to handle traffic and scheduling issues, maintaining security through a firewall, and controlling space utilization.
  • Implements new hardware and software to enhance performance, ensures compatibility with existing systems, and negotiates with vendors.
  • Tracks resource utilization, evaluates new technologies, and projects data storage needs based on current and future usage patterns.
  • Plans for future business changes by analyzing resource utilization and performance impact of new technologies.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of information systems experience in system integration and development.
  • An Associate degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or completion of a two-year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field.
  • Three (3) years of information systems experience in system integration and development.
  • A Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, and one (1) year of information systems experience in system integration and development.
  • Minimum four (4) years of IT customer relations experience.
  • Minimum four (4) years of network infrastructure construction and monitoring.
  • Expertise in Microsoft full suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

Qualifications

  • HSPD-12 credentialed or willing to undergo the background check process.

Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly with federal partners.
  • Proficiency in network infrastructure design and maintenance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

$6,182 - $9,361 annually.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (flexible for alternate work schedules).
