Accountabilities
- Support the development, improvement, and implementation of information governance frameworks, ensuring that records management practices align with regulatory requirements, business needs, and digital transformation goals.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise records classification structures and retention schedules.
- Analyze business processes to identify records, retention triggers, lifecycle requirements, and information management needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including business teams, Legal, Privacy, Audit, Risk, and IT departments.
- Translate regulatory, legislative, and policy requirements into practical business rules and recordkeeping standards.
- Design and maintain classification taxonomies, metadata structures, and governance models.
- Identify information management risks and recommend mitigation strategies to strengthen compliance and operational effectiveness.
- Create governance documentation, including retention rationales, classification models, procedures, guidance materials, and decision logs.
- Support records governance initiatives across digital, hybrid, and traditional information environments.
- Identify official records, temporary information, duplicate content, and opportunities for improved information lifecycle management.
- Assist with records modernization projects, digital transformation initiatives, and implementation activities.
- Recommend improvements to information lifecycle practices, governance processes, and content management approaches.
Requirements
- Experienced in information governance and records management with strong knowledge of compliance frameworks, lifecycle management, and enterprise information practices.
- Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and translating complex requirements into practical solutions.
- Proven experience developing and maintaining records classification structures and retention schedules.
- Experience analyzing business processes and identifying records lifecycle requirements.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including Legal, Privacy, Audit, Risk, Business, and IT stakeholders.
- Ability to interpret legislation, regulations, policies, and governance requirements.
- Experience working in regulated environments such as financial services, public sector organizations, government entities, or similar industries.
- Strong understanding of records and information lifecycle management principles.
- Knowledge of records classification, taxonomy design, retention and disposition management, and metadata management.
- Experience developing governance documentation, policies, procedures, and compliance materials.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to manage stakeholder relationships and support organizational change initiatives.
- Experience with records modernization projects, retention schedule updates, or legacy records migration initiatives is a plus.
- Familiarity with information architecture, data governance, enterprise content management systems, Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, cloud content platforms, workflow automation, or digital transformation initiatives is beneficial.
- Knowledge of privacy regulations, government information requirements, or regulated industry compliance frameworks is an advantage.
