Industrial Site Operations Supervisor

About the Role

The Operations Supervisor supervises the onsite Resource Management program to ensure safety is prioritized, processes are continuously improved for both Casella and the customer, and employees are encouraged to progress in their careers.

Responsibilities

• Manages and maintains daily activities to ensure operations are completed efficiently and safely.
• Trains new employees on expectations and procedures for daily operations.
• Maintains clear communication and positive relationships with key contacts, including the Operations Manager and customer contacts.
• Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement in collection methods, material values, contamination reduction, and disposition, while providing safety and development feedback.
• Schedules material movements, including MSW, metals, organics, non-regulated waste, and recyclables.
• Prioritizes safety by maintaining equipment and completing facility checklists.
• Demonstrates effective leadership by communicating clear goals, coaching team members, and providing development opportunities.
• Manages and leads team members through communication, goal-setting, coaching, and training access to achieve team and corporate results.
• Participates in training and learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales, and services.
• Performs additional duties to support the company’s vision, mission, and core values.
• Ensures compliance with all company, state, and federal policies, regulations, and laws regarding employment and employee safety.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2–4 years of industrial operations and manufacturing experience.
• Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience operating various types of equipment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Physical ability to lift 30 lbs frequently, 65 lbs occasionally, and stand for up to 8 hours a day.

Qualifications

• Technical school education with a focus on industrial arts (preferred).
• Valid CDL license or ability to attain one (preferred).
• Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Equipment operation skills (forklift, box truck, grinder).
• Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures.
