About the role

Location: Dayton, OH
Hours: Tuesday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Pay

$33.15 - $39.00 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Work in a team-oriented and safety-conscious environment with a “Safety First” approach, including PJHA process, Observation process, and compliance with all company/site safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on pumps, conveying systems, piping, heat exchangers, power transmissions, and other power-driven rotating equipment in conformance with established standards.
  • Complete tasks with varying levels of supervision, from direct oversight to independent task completion based on development and assigned tasks.
  • Assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards and work procedures, providing feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery.
  • Use hand and power tools daily, including hand grinders, saws, impact wrenches, drill presses, hydraulic pullers, rigging equipment, and cutting torches.
  • Perform welding as required.
  • Operate and maintain knowledge of heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, basket trucks, and skid loaders.
  • Work from elevated areas (ladders, platforms, scaffolding) using fall protection equipment as necessary.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work all shifts, including holidays and weekends as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all company and customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Meet performance expectations and participate in employee development planning.
  • Communicate with team members to assist in short- and long-range planning aligned with company goals.
  • Maintain personal tools required for the job, including an up-to-date documented tool list to be supplied as part of employment.
  • Perform assigned tasks safely, effectively, and efficiently.
  • Complete accurate and timely administrative duties, including time accounting and work order completion.
  • Maintain positive customer and employee relations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or approved GED; AA degree in Industrial Maintenance preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance and/or 4+ years of education in industrial maintenance technologies/engineering.
  • Working knowledge of hand/power tools, precision alignment, rigging, pipefitting, welding, blueprint reading, mathematics, and Preventive/Predictive Maintenance.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy industrial equipment safely.
  • Flexibility to work all shifts, including holidays and weekends as demanded by the job.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to observe details at close range.
  • Control precision: quickly and repeatedly adjust machine or vehicle controls to exact positions.
  • Manual dexterity: quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds).
  • Ability to move for extended or continuous periods.
  • Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely.
  • Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties.
  • Communication/Expression: effectively communicate information and ideas.
  • Information Ordering: arrange things or actions in a specific order or pattern according to rules.

Work Environment

  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, high/precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
  • Occasional exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, wet and/or humid conditions.
  • Very loud noise levels.
