About the role

This position involves performing repairs and preventive maintenance on industrial mechanical systems and equipment in a team-oriented, safety-conscious environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on pumps, conveying systems, piping, heat exchangers, power transmissions, and other power-driven rotating equipment in conformance with established standards.
  • Assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards and work procedures; provide work order feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery.
  • Use hand and power tools daily, including hand grinders, saws, impact wrenches, drill presses, hydraulic pullers, and rigging equipment.
  • Perform welding and use cutting torches as required.
  • Operate and maintain knowledge of heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, basket trucks, and skid loaders.
  • Work from elevated areas (ladders, platforms, scaffolding) utilizing fall protection equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all company and customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Complete administrative duties accurately and timely, including time accounting and work order completion.
  • Maintain personal tools required for the job, including an up-to-date documented tool list.
  • Communicate with team members to assist in short- and long-range planning aligned with company goals.
  • Perform any and all other duties assigned by the responsible supervisor.

Requirements

  • 0-5 years of mechanical experience and/or 1-2 years of education in industrial maintenance technologies preferred.
  • Working knowledge of hand/power tools, precision alignment, rigging, pipefitting, welding, blueprint reading, mathematics, and preventive/predictive maintenance.
  • Ability to work all shifts, including holidays and weekends as demanded by the job.
  • Flexibility to work in a team-oriented and safety-conscious environment with a “Safety First” mindset.
  • Maintain positive customer and employee relations.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to observe details at close range.
  • Control precision: quickly and repeatedly adjust machine or vehicle controls to exact positions.
  • Manual dexterity: quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds).
  • Ability to move for extended or continuous periods.
  • Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles safely.
  • Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties.
  • Communication/expression: ability to convey information clearly so others understand.
  • Information ordering: ability to arrange things or actions in a specific order or pattern.

Work Environment

  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, high/precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
  • Occasionally exposed to extreme heat, extreme cold, wet and/or humid conditions.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

Pay

$32.30 - $38.00 per hour, based on experience.

Schedule

6:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Thursday.
