About the role
This position is located in Blair, Nebraska. The schedule is Monday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM.
Responsibilities
- Work in a team-oriented, safety-conscious environment with a “Safety First” approach, including PJHA process, Observation process, and compliance with all company/site safety guidelines and procedures.
- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on pumps, conveying systems, piping, heat exchangers, power transmissions, and other power-driven rotating equipment in conformance with established standards.
- Complete tasks ranging from supervised to unsupervised, based on assigned tasks and employee development.
- Assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards and work procedures; provide work order feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery.
- Use hand and power tools daily (e.g., hand grinders, saws, impact wrenches, drill press, hydraulic pullers), rigging equipment, welding, and cutting torches.
- Operate and maintain knowledge of heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, basket trucks, and skid loaders.
- Work from elevated areas (ladders, platforms, scaffolding) using fall protection equipment as necessary.
- Demonstrate flexibility to work all shifts, including holidays and weekends as required.
- Ensure compliance with all company and customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Achieve performance expectations set forth in performance appraisals, including employee development planning.
- Communicate with team members to assist in short- and long-range planning aligned with company goals and objectives.
- Maintain personal tools required for the job, including an up-to-date documented tool list to be supplied as part of employment.
- Perform assigned tasks safely, effectively, and efficiently.
- Complete accurate and timely administrative duties, including time accounting and work order completion.
- Maintain positive customer and employee relations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or approved GED; AA degree in Industrial Maintenance preferred but not required.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance and/or 4+ years of education in industrial maintenance technologies/engineering.
- Working knowledge of hand/power tools, precision alignment, rigging, pipefitting, welding, blueprint reading, mathematics, and Preventive/Predictive Maintenance.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other vehicles safely.
- Ability to work in elevated areas using fall protection equipment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, move for extended periods, ascend/descend staircases/ladders, and operate tools and equipment.
- Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties.
- Strong communication skills to convey information effectively.
- Ability to arrange tasks or actions in a specific order or pattern (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, or operations).
Work Environment
The role involves exposure to:
- Moving mechanical parts, high/precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
- Occasional extreme heat, extreme cold, wet/humid conditions.
- Very loud noise levels.
Pay
$32.20–$37.88 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
