Industrial Electrician - Master
About the role
The Master Electrician Mechanic leads and guides the daily and weekly work of electrician mechanics to ensure maximum electrical reliability and minimal downtime. This role requires applying advanced expertise in troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and electrical system installation, while providing technical leadership on complex electrical controls and ensuring all work adheres to safety and compliance standards.
Required Duties/Activities
- Acts as lead for all electrical mechanics, directing all work to be completed, both daily and weekly.
- Trains and assists all other levels of electrical mechanics, serving as the subject matter expert on all electrical maintenance issues.
- Executes the schedules of maintenance, repair, and improvement of electrical systems and equipment, while controlling costs.
- Repairs, troubleshoots, maintains, inspects, and adjusts complex electrical processes within the plant to ensure uninterrupted operation.
- Adheres to all safety requirements, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, performing lockout/tagout procedures, and managing Process Safety Management (PSM) related matters.
- Daily/Weekly Reporting for all work completed and materials used, along with hours spent.
Required Education/Experience
- H/S, Trade School, Vocational, or advanced schooling, with formal training and/or general-level maintenance, including journeyman and/or master's certifications in one or more disciplines.
- HazMat trained.
- 7-10 years of industrial manufacturing or skilled trades experience, which may include a combination of on-the-job and informal training.
- Demonstrated proficiency with routine general preventative maintenance and repairs, as well as non-routine high-level emergency repairs.
- Fully understands the theory, practical knowledge, and skills necessary to safely and successfully function as a master-level mechanic.
