Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC controls to achieve proper indoor air quality.
- Clean, lubricate and service ventilation, air conditioning, and environmental control equipment.
- Repair, replace, or calibrate controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring.
- Conduct energy management conservation surveys to realize most efficient, cost-effective use of HVAC energy.
- Receive and complete work orders. Select material and hardware and generate time, materials, and job estimates.
- Maintain accurate records on material and labor used.
- Maintain inventory of district-owned tools, equipment, and materials.
- Work with building principals and supervisors to complete projects.
- Detect needed repairs on equipment following established inspection and walk through procedures.
- Respond to emergency calls during regular hours and after hours.
Safety
- Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Ensure that equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.

- Pipe bender, and propane torch

Working Conditions
- Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions.
- Physical Demands: Ability to perform extensive physical and repetitive activities, including but not limited to continual standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, balancing, crawling, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, carrying, climbing (ladder) and driving truck or van. Moderate lifting and carrying up to 105 lbs. Frequent district wide travel.
- Environmental Factors: Work for continuous or extended periods exposed to, but not limited to the sun, heat, cold, poor weather conditions and/or mechanical room or equipment noise.
