Air Quality Technician I

About the Role

This full-time Air Quality Technician position involves field-based work, including driving to various client sites to participate in air monitoring activities, obtaining permits, conducting facility inspections, and contributing to the construction and maintenance of monitoring systems. The role requires on-call availability, including the ability to respond to calls and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Drive to and within client facilities.
  • Obtain permits at client facilities.
  • Complete Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and toolbox meetings.
  • Conduct facility inspections, audits, and sampling.
  • Maintain and upkeep air monitoring equipment.
  • Assist with the construction, operation, and maintenance of stationary continuous emissions monitoring systems and mobile ambient air monitoring stations.
  • Generate accurate and complete documentation of field activities.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements set forth by Providence and its clients.
  • Respond to company and client calls during extended hours, including evenings, nights, and weekends, and work overtime when necessary.

Requirements

  • Three years’ experience in an industrial setting or a two-year technical degree (preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
  • TWIC Card.
  • Knowledge of common engineering concepts, practices, standards, and procedures.
  • Ability to read, interpret, create, and assemble from drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and sketches.
  • Strong electro/mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other technical programs.
  • Ability to travel frequently and on short notice, with some overnight travel.
  • Ability to walk long distances and lift 50 or more pounds.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights and outdoors in variable weather conditions and on varied terrain, sometimes for extended periods.
