Job Summary
The Natural History Museum of Utah seeks an Individual and Corporate Giving Coordinator to help advance the Museum's diverse fundraising initiatives. The successful candidate will play a critical role in advancing the Museum's mission by identifying, cultivating, and securing significant philanthropic support from a variety of individuals and corporate partners.
Responsibilities
- Research and identify annual and major gift prospects, and make direct solicitations to individuals and corporations on behalf of the Museum.
- Work with colleagues to establish a portfolio of approximately 75 annual and major gift prospects and develop plans for each.
- Work with other members of the Museum's philanthropy team to develop comprehensive fundraising strategies that take into account the varied interests of the donor and the Museum's goals.
- Track progress towards solicitations through established key performance indicators, including University-wide advancement metrics.
- Prepare major gift prospect strategies for comprehensive fund-raising campaigns by developing specific plans for individual donors.
- Prepare and deliver individual proposals to solicit contributions.
- Record interactions, asks, responses, and outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with departments across the Museum and at the University's Advancement Office to ensure a positive donor experience.
- Work with colleagues at the Museum to ensure timely delivery of reports, stewardship items, pledge reminders, and more.
- Work with members of the Museum's Philanthropy Team to implement a wide range of special initiatives designed to foster deeper engagement for NHMU donors, including tours of the Museum and other unique experiences.
- Assist with the execution of Philanthropy Department events including, special exhibition openings, NHMU's annual Gala, and more.
Minimum Qualifications
- EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
- Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels: Fund Development Specialists, II: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.
