About the role

Join EXP as the Indiana Transportation Leader within the Infrastructure/Transportation business practice. This role focuses on roadway, bridge, water, and railway projects, providing leadership for successful project delivery and growing the transportation practice in Indiana. The position requires a seller-doer with an entrepreneurial spirit, capable of managing client relationships for key entities such as the Indiana Department of Transportation, City of Indianapolis, surrounding counties, municipalities, NICTD, and Class I freight rail clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for the successful delivery of transportation projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Collaborate with transportation team members from other offices to build diverse project teams.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and retain local transportation staff to successfully deliver projects.
  • Negotiate and manage budgets to ensure financial performance objectives are met for each project.
  • Build and maintain client relationships, develop new clients, and win work for the Infrastructure/Transportation Practice.
  • Supervise and direct staff engineers and technicians to meet project deadlines, scope, and budget requirements.
  • Work with the leadership team within the Infrastructure/Transportation Practice and across EXP’s Practice Groups to develop and carry out the company’s mission.
  • Represent EXP through professional association membership, participation, and industry events.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressively responsible relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Indiana.
  • Proven record of client relationship development and maintenance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise staff engineers and technicians.
  • Demonstrated leadership, project management skills, and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to recruit, grow, and mentor staff.
  • Demonstrated history of industry participation and network.
