About the role
AECOM is seeking an experienced and dedicated Tennessee Transportation Leader to join our team, specifically focused on managing our relationship portfolio in the State of Tennessee, with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) as well as municipal clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding the unique needs and priorities of our government client, facilitating effective communication, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects and services that align with our client's goals.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact between our organization and the Tennessee Department of Transportation, fostering a strong and collaborative partnership.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the Department's transportation objectives, initiatives, and challenges to provide tailored solutions and services.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the accurate interpretation and execution of the Department's requirements and expectations.
- Facilitate regular meetings and communication channels with the client at multiple levels to review project progress, address concerns, and gather feedback.
- Manage the successful delivery of projects by aligning AECOM’s global resources and ensuring resources adhere to local transportation regulations, safety standards, and contractual obligations.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all client interactions, communications, and project-related documentation.
- Organize and participate in relevant industry conferences, workshops, and networking events to represent the organization and foster relationships.
- Use client relationship management tools and software to track project progress and manage client relationships.
Qualifications
- BA/BS and 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Experience with and knowledge of TDOT standards, policies, regulations, and procedures within a government context
- Preferred: BS Civil Engineering, Experience as a Client Account Manager, TDOT Project Manager or in a similar client-facing role within the Tennessee transportation market, Tennessee Professional Engineering License, Experience in communication, proposal preparation, and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to liaise effectively with government officials and key partners, Experience managing the execution of complex transportation projects and programs, preferably for TDOT, Experience with an analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights to drive decision-making, Experience in the ability to navigate bureaucratic processes, manage government expectations, and ensure compliance, Experience working independently, manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, and prioritize tasks effectively, Demonstrated strong problem-solving abilities through hands-on experience, consistently taking a proactive approach to identifying challenges, implementing effective solutions, and driving results
