About the role

As part of the General Merchandise and Food Sales team, you’ll lead inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes. This role ensures product is merchandised, available, accurately priced, and signed on the sales floor. You’ll also oversee pick, pack, and ship fulfillment, as well as unloading trailer deliveries and preparing merchandise for stocking.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a consistent, easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience by training and holding team members accountable to Target’s guest experience commitments.
• Review guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, improve execution, and celebrate wins.
• Execute daily/weekly workload to meet department and store sales goals and guest engagement targets.
• Lead operations, freshness, accuracy, and efficiency with guidance from your direct leader.
• Set clear goals and expectations, holding team members accountable to performance standards.
• Use workload planning tools to ensure areas are guest-ready at store open, assigning tasks based on priorities and guest traffic.
• Assess GM backroom and sales floor areas, resolving gaps to ensure product availability.
• Support organizational and operational change with guidance from your direct leader.
• Build and develop a team of GM Experts through selection, onboarding, training, and feedback.
• Foster inclusivity by valuing diverse voices, being authentic, and creating equitable experiences.
• Model and enforce a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance, including hazard identification and incident reporting.
• Lead physical security processes to enhance in-store safety and support merchandise protection strategies.
• Assume store-level leadership on duty (LOD) responsibilities as needed to enable the guest experience.
• Address store and offsite emergencies and compliance needs, including backup cashier, order pickup, and Drive Up duties.
• Occasionally perform other duties based on business needs.

Skills

• Guest service fundamentals and experience building a guest-first culture
• Retail business fundamentals, including sales trends, inventory management, and pricing strategies
• Planning and prioritizing daily/weekly workload to support business goals
• Leading, interviewing, developing, coaching, evaluating, and retaining a team of hourly team members

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Age 18 or older
• Previous retail experience preferred but not required
• Ability to lead and hold others accountable
• Adaptability to current technology needs
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong workload management and prioritization skills
• Ability to remain focused in a fast-paced environment and meet timeframes
