In Room Dining Server
About the Role
As an In-Room Dining Server at Goldener Hirsch, you will ensure an outstanding and memorable in-room dining experience for each guest. This role involves taking and placing orders accurately and quickly, delivering requested items efficiently, and maintaining high standards of service.
Responsibilities
- Accurately and quickly take and place guest orders, inputting them into the POS system to ensure correct timing and billing.
- Deliver requested items in an efficient and timely manner.
- Engage with guests about their needs and satisfaction with beverages and food, ensuring consistently caring and high-quality service.
- Retrieve orders from the POS system and communicate any special requests or modifications to the kitchen.
- Maintain knowledge of all menu items.
- Prepare the guest check accurately and collect payment or signature as required.
- Operate, maintain, and properly clean all restaurant equipment and fittings.
- Ensure food delivery is tidy and maintain an accurate inventory of food items (beverages, snacks) and non-food items (menu cards, napkins, straws) on carts and in storage areas.
- Use safe food handling procedures and maintain a safe working environment by following proper skills and food safety guidelines.
- Clean and maintain in-room private/mini-bars; report damage or malfunctioning units.
- Check the quality and expiration of all items; discard and replace according to established procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of experience in customer service or the foodservice/hospitality industry.
- Must meet the minimum age requirements for food and alcohol service.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to department needs.
- Ability to obtain relevant state and local government certifications, such as a food handlers certificate or alcohol training certifications, as applicable to the position.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs.
