Implementation Specialist
About the Role
We're hiring an Implementation Specialist to be the technical engine behind tracking and analytics work, enabling Technical Account Managers (TAM) and Advisors to focus on client relationships and strategy. You'll own hands-on technical work across the client lifecycle, including configuring and providing strategy recommendations on tracking setup, standing up integrations, troubleshooting issues, and potentially building reporting to demonstrate client results. While you won't manage client relationships directly, your work must withstand scrutiny, as it often underpins a client's entire attribution picture.
Responsibilities
- Configure Google Tag Manager and GA4 for custom events, conversions, and server-side tagging.
- Conduct website and tracking audits to provide recommendations and outline necessary tags/events.
- Troubleshoot broken or inconsistent tracking, identify root causes, and implement fixes independently.
- Develop light scripting solutions (e.g., custom GTM tags/triggers, Google Apps Script) for one-off needs.
- Document technical findings clearly so non-technical team members (e.g., TAMs or Advisors) can act on them without direct assistance.
- Stand up integrations and manage CRM/offline conversion pipelines (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Measurement Protocol) to funnel conversions into ad platforms or CDPs.
- Exercise sound judgment on technical architecture, especially in regulated industries where compliance is critical.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience configuring Google Tag Manager and GA4 for custom events, conversions, and server-side tagging.
- Experience conducting website and tracking audits to provide actionable recommendations.
- Familiarity with project management tools like ClickUp for tracking build work.
- Experience or knowledge of CRM and offline conversion pipelines (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Measurement Protocol).
- Strong independent troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve tracking issues.
- Light scripting ability (e.g., custom GTM tags/triggers, Google Apps Script) for one-off solutions.
- Ability to document technical work clearly for non-technical stakeholders.
- Sound judgment on technical architecture, particularly in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, dental).
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in healthcare, dental, or other HIPAA-adjacent industries.
- Experience setting up and troubleshooting call tracking platforms (e.g., CallRail, CallTrackingMetrics).
- Prior experience at a marketing agency or in a broader MarTech environment.
- Comfort building reporting and dashboards clients rely on (e.g., GA4, Looker Studio, Power BI).
- Working knowledge of CDP/CMP platforms (e.g., Segment, Ours Privacy, Freshpaint, Curve, OneTrust), including configuration and evaluation.
The Environment
This role sits at the intersection of a lean, highly technical team and a diverse, fast-moving client base. You'll work on projects reviewed by sophisticated in-house marketing ops teams as well as those requiring plain-language explanations for non-technical stakeholders. Collaboration with Technical Account Managers (who handle client-facing scheduling and relationship management) and an Analytics Advisor (who signs off on high-risk architecture calls) allows you to focus on the technical build. The ideal candidate thrives on solving complex technical problems cleanly, documents their work thoroughly, and is comfortable owning technical judgment calls in a space where accuracy and compliance are critical.
