About the role

Our client is seeking a skilled attorney to handle federal immigration litigation from start to finish. The role involves drafting and filing complaints, motions, and briefs, representing clients in federal court, and supporting administrative-level attorneys with legal research and strategic opinion memos. This position suits an experienced litigator capable of managing complex federal cases independently while providing expert legal analysis on immigration and related federal law issues.

Responsibilities

  • Lead federal court cases involving immigration matters, including APA challenges, mandamus actions, habeas petitions, and FTCA claims.
  • Draft and argue motions, complaints, and briefs in federal court.
  • Provide internal legal analysis and written opinions to support strategies in administrative cases before agencies such as USCIS, EOIR, and DHS.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys to guide case development and ensure consistent legal strategies across federal and administrative levels.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school; active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 7+ years of experience in federal immigration litigation, USCIS, and EOIR.
  • Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Expertise in at least three areas such as APA, mandamus, habeas corpus, Bivens actions, or FTCA claims.
  • Commitment to ethical practice and advocacy for immigrant rights.
