Imaging Service Engineer I (NY / Long Island, NY)
About the role
As an Imaging Service Engineer I, you will perform scheduled and some unscheduled service work on systems within a designated service area, with guidance from technical support and direction from the Area Service Manager. Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and unscheduled maintenance on assigned equipment, working independently on preventative tasks and with technical support on unscheduled repairs.
- Install and de-install products and peripheral equipment with minimal assistance.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with field personnel, home office staff, and management.
- Communicate promptly with management to escalate issues and customer concerns.
- Complete administrative duties, including electronic expense reports, timecards, work orders, service appointments, parts inventory, training, and QA/RA documentation per Fujifilm policies.
- Keep customer service orders and internal records up to date.
- Maintain daily customer communications to ensure resolution and follow-up, driving customer satisfaction.
- Use the escalation process to resolve service delivery issues and conduct root cause analysis for effective problem-solving.
- Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately, neatly, and submitted on time.
- Work occasional odd hours, overtime, and travel as required.
- Maintain exceptional customer relations and promote Fujifilm’s image and reputation internally and externally.
- Manage assigned tools, test equipment, and spare parts, including timely returns.
- Comply with U.S. FDA medical device regulations, ISO 13485 standards, and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Meet vendor credentialing requirements for hospital and facility access, including vaccination mandates where applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Area Service Manager.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics, computer science, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum one year of field service experience.
- Knowledge of assigned equipment to ensure timely repairs and effective maintenance.
- Active listening skills and above-average customer service abilities.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills; ability to work independently and maintain FDA and company documentation standards.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
- Proficiency in operating test equipment (e.g., oscilloscope, meter, diagnostic testers).
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
Physical Requirements
The role involves working in medical, clinical, and construction environments, including exposure to high magnetic fields (up to 3 Tesla), which may pose risks to ferrous medical implants.
- Standing/Walking: Frequent and prolonged.
- Sitting: Frequent and prolonged, including during travel to customer sites.
- Lifting/Carrying: Periodic lifting of 1–60 lbs. (e.g., hand tools, diagnostic equipment, replacement components).
- Pushing/Pulling: Rare, primarily for moving patient tables (1000 lbs.) or MRI cabinets (600–6000 lbs.), requiring ~30 lbs. of manual force.
- Bending: Occasional and prolonged, primarily in the low back.
- Reaching: Rare above shoulder level (e.g., accessing 6-foot-high MRI components); occasional below shoulder level.
- Kneeling/Crawling/Crouching: Occasional and prolonged (e.g., wiring, accessing lower MRI panels).
- Climbing: Rare, using a 6-foot ladder to access upper MRI panels.
- Balancing: Rare, when standing on ladders.
- Twisting: Rare, primarily in the low back.
Additional Requirements

Pay
$32.69–$38.46 per hour.
