About the role

Bedrock Veterinary Specialists is seeking a responsible, dedicated, hardworking, and friendly Veterinary ICU Assistant to join our progressive and rapidly developing Specialty Surgery Center. Responsibilities

  • Provide essential patient care, assisting the medical team with hands-on care and ensuring every animal is treated with compassion and respect.
  • Act as the go-to support for the medical team by anticipating needs, ensuring smooth workflow, and fostering collaboration.
  • Create a positive client experience by assisting with scheduling, payments, and communications in a courteous and informative manner.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment by performing clinic upkeep and equipment maintenance to uphold high standards of care.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A calm and efficient approach, with the ability to handle a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment with composure.
  • Confidence and skill in handling pets of all sizes and temperaments.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in fundamental veterinary skills, including laboratory, pharmacy, nursing, and radiology.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with the team and clients using tact, patience, professional courtesy, and discretion.
  • Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices, estimates, and other position-related tasks.
  • Ability to safely medicate, restrain, and handle patients of all sizes and personalities.
