Veterinary Assistant - ICU

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Kirkland, WA is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to support the Critical Care department.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics including radiographs and lab work
• Set up patients in ICU or Inpatient ward and handle patient discharge
• Manage client communication
• Provide nursing care to patients according to hospital standards and core values
• Report patient signalment, problem list, and plan during nursing rounds
• Understand classification of commonly used medications, associated side effects, and monitor therapeutic response
• Administer medications via appropriate routes and duration
• Perform phlebotomy and physical exams, accurately measuring vital signs (heart rate, pulse, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate, and effort)
• Possess working knowledge of anesthesia/monitoring equipment and assist with patients assigned ASA I or II classifications
• Stay current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R CPR guidelines and demonstrate proficiency in designated role as assigned by attending clinician and/or supervisor

Schedule

• Sunday + Monday (ICU): 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Wednesday (Triage): 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Pay

$23 – $31 per hour
